ORTHODONTIC SERVICES
At Kind Orthodontics, we treat young children, teenagers, and adults. Different age groups often have different needs. As Board-Certified orthodontists, we can help you identify what types of appliances and treatments are appropriate for your needs.
CHILDREN (AGES 7+)
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends children be evaluated by an orthodontist as early as age 7. At this age, a child's jaws are growing and the child has "mixed dentition" - meaning they have both developing adult teeth and baby teeth.
Orthodontic treatment in young children is known as Interceptive Orthodontics or Phase 1. Your child should be evaluated to see if there are any problems that would indicate Phase 1 treatment, such as crowding or a cross-bite, that when addressed early on, can prevent more complex problems in the future.
TEEN TREATMENT
Teens are ready for comprehensive orthodontic treatment once all their permanent teeth have erupted. The teenage years are an optimal time for orthodontic treatment- whether it be braces or Invisalign treatment! Teeth in teenagers tend to move more predictably (i.e. faster) and there are certain bite problems that can be treated more effectively since teens are still growing. In later years, some orthodontic problems tend to be more difficult (and more costly) to correct since adult jaws and facial bones are fully developed. Also, it's likely your teenager has friends and classmates who are also going through a similar process so they will not be alone! Once treatment is complete, your teenager can benefit from a confident, healthy, and beautiful smile for a lifetime.
ADULT TREATMENT
Orthodontics isn't just for kids — adults can benefit too! It's not too late to have the confident and beautiful smile you've been dreaming of. Orthodontic treatment can be as successful for adults as it is for adolescents. Whether you’re 8 or 80, it’s the same physiological process that moves teeth through bone. We are experts in treating both adults and children, and we offer esthetic options such as clear braces and Invisalign. Your dream smile is within reach at Kind Orthodontics.
